The Values App

The eight values archetypes

Your archetype is the pattern your top five values make together. It is a lens on how your values tend to show up. It is not a label, and it is not the whole of you.

How it works

How your archetype is worked out

  1. 01

    You choose your values

From 48 values in four dimensions, you pick the ones that fit and rank your top five by choosing between them in pairs.

  2. 02

    Each value leans somewhere

Every value leans toward one or more archetypes. Curiosity leans toward the Explorer. Loyalty leans toward the Guardian.

  3. 03

Your top five point the way

Your higher-ranked values count for more. The archetype your five point to most strongly is yours. If two are close, you get a blend.

Common questions

What is a values archetype?

A values archetype is the pattern your top five values make together. The Values App uses eight: Giver, Explorer, Sage, Guardian, Creator, Connector, Harmonizer and Leader. An archetype is a lens on how your values tend to show up. It is not a label, and it is not the whole of you.

How is my archetype worked out?

From your top five values, in the order you ranked them. Each of the 48 values leans toward one or more archetypes, and your higher-ranked values count for more. The archetype your five values point to most strongly is your result.

Can I be more than one archetype?

Yes. When your two strongest archetypes score close together, your result is shown as a blend, such as The Creator with an Explorer current.

Can my archetype change?

It can. Your archetype follows your values, and values shift as life does. If you retake the assessment and your top five have changed, your archetype may change with them.

How do I find my archetype?

Take the free Values App assessment. Your top five values take about three minutes, and a few more questions unlock your archetype, for about nine minutes in total.
